The field is opening for the season, the apothecary doors are wide, and we have a full week of small good things planned.
Bloom Week is our annual celebration of the lavender field coming back into bloom and the official start of summer at the schoolhouse. It runs Monday, May 18 through Sunday, May 24, and carries us into Memorial Day Weekend, when the lakes open up and the season begins in earnest across LaGrange.
Whether you've been coming to the schoolhouse all year or you're stopping by for the first time on your way to the lake, the doors are open and the field is waiting. Here's what we have planned for the week.
Tuesday through Saturday
Camp Bloomfield, all week
Reace has put together a week of kids' crafts running in the apothecary from Tuesday through Saturday. The first craft is on us, and any additional crafts are $5 each. The crafts are designed to be fun for all ages and all kinds of kids, so there's something for everyone who walks in.
What's on the table this week:
Customizable mini hairbrushes and claw clips
Decorate your own with charms, paint, and a little bit of lavender.
Treasure chests to color and bedazzle
Small wooden treasure chests, paint, gemstones, and as much creativity as the afternoon allows.
Black and white puzzles with crayon packets
Color the picture in, then put the puzzle together. Quiet, focused fun for any age.
Drop in any day Tuesday through Saturday. No reservation needed.

Three Bloom Week bundles
We've pulled together three small bundles for the week, each one built around how summer actually shows up around here. They're only available in the apothecary at 107 W Spring Street in LaGrange, and only through Memorial Day. Once they're gone, they're gone until next year.
