Episode 2 of our restoration series is here, and this time Marion takes you somewhere new. Down into the basement of the 1904 Bloomfield Schoolhouse.
With the final phase of construction fully underway, Marion walks through the basement to share an update on where things stand and what is planned for the space. It is a rare look at a part of the building most people never see, and a chance to hear the vision behind the work happening down there right now.
Where the Final Phase Stands
The Bloomfield Schoolhouse has been a work in progress for years. What began as a personal restoration project between Marion and Greg has slowly grown into something much larger, shaped season by season with patience and care.
This final phase of construction kicked off earlier this summer, with completion expected in November 2026. When the work is done, the schoolhouse will stand fully restored for the first time in generations, ready to serve as the heart of Bloomfield Schoolhouse Lavender.
Why the Basement Matters
The basement is one of the less visible parts of the restoration, but it plays an important role in the future of the building. In this episode, Marion walks through the space and shares the plans that will bring it to life alongside the rest of the schoolhouse.
